Common causes: physical and emotional contributors
Inconsolable crying may stem from physical issues (pain from ear, dental or abdominal sources; infections; feeding problems; gas or digestive discomfort; fatigue; or less common neurological or metabolic conditions) and from emotional causes (grief, intense anxiety, panic reactions, stress or emotional dysregulation). Often more than one factor contributes, so a broad assessment can be needed.
