What loss of sensation means
Loss of sensation can affect one sense (touch, temperature, pain) or proprioception (sense of limb position). People may notice numbness, pins-and-needles, an area that feels dead, or reduced response to touch. Onset can be sudden or gradual and the problem may be localized (hand, foot, face) or widespread.
