Common reasons appetite rises
Appetite can increase for physiological, psychological and environmental reasons. Typical contributors include hormonal changes (for example related to thyroid or adrenal function), pregnancy and breastfeeding, fluctuations in blood sugar, side effects of some medications, poor or short sleep, stress and mood changes, and higher energy expenditure from increased activity. Temporary changes in routine or dieting can also lead to a transient rise in hunger.
