Which body systems can be involved?
Difficulty standing can arise from problems in several systems: musculoskeletal issues (muscle weakness, joint pain, arthritis), neurological conditions (nerve compression, peripheral neuropathy, post-stroke changes), vestibular/inner-ear disorders (vertigo, vestibular dysfunction), cardiovascular causes (low blood pressure, arrhythmias), metabolic or endocrine imbalances (electrolyte disturbances, blood sugar changes) and medication side effects. Age‑related loss of muscle strength also contributes.
