Go to the emergency department or contact emergency services immediately if you have signs such as chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, fainting or loss of consciousness, sudden severe headache, uncontrolled bleeding, or major trauma. Regarding the shoulder specifically, urgent evaluation is needed if there is sudden arm weakness, new severe neurological changes, high fever, or marked swelling and intense pain around the shoulder.
