Types and key features
Bleeding disorders can affect how quickly bleeding stops and how much bleeding occurs. Examples include inherited conditions such as hemophilia and von Willebrand disease, platelet number or function problems, and coagulopathy related to liver disease. Some are congenital, while others are acquired due to illness, medication effects or systemic disease.
